Following the inspection, you'll receive a detailed report highlighting any immediate concerns, recommended maintenance items and areas that should be monitored over time.

If you'd like ongoing support, you can join our Care Home Exterior Care Programme. Designed to provide peace of mind, the programme helps ensure your outdoor areas remain safe, presentable and well-maintained throughout the year.

Areas Covered During Our Inspections

Our inspections focus on the areas most critical to resident safety, visitor safety, security and exterior property condition.

1 Boundary lines, fences, and walls: Ensuring the property remains secure and well maintained.
2 Grounds and walkways: Identifying trip hazards, uneven surfaces and slip risks that could affect residents, staff or visitors.
3 Roof condition: Visual roof checks, including drone inspections where suitable.
4 Gutter and downpipe systems: Checking for blockages, leaks, or damage.
5 Access points and safety features: Ramps, handrails, grab rails, mobility access routes and entry areas.
6 Building exterior condition: Signs of damp, cracks, or other visible issues.
7 Drainage points: Gullies, outlets, and surface drainage for blockages or poor flow.
8 Gates and security features: Ensuring gates, locks, and perimeter access points are functioning correctly.
9 Visibility and lighting: External lighting, security visibility and safe access around entrances, pathways and communal outdoor areas.

Inspection Reporting & Property Records

Each care home receives a dedicated property care folder, along with a digital version, to keep a clear record of all inspections, findings, and work carried out. Following each inspection visit, we update:
